Heavenly Trail of Tropical Feathers & Wild Life (HTTW)
Day 1
On arrival at the Bandaranayke International Airport you will be greeted by our tour guide or chauffeur and transferred to the hotel. In the early evening you will meet the tour guide and the rest of the group, where your guide will brief you on the tour
Day 2
Negombo / Wilpattu / Anuradhapura
After the breakfast you will proceed to the northwestern region of the country
Day 3
Anuradhapura / Minneriya / Giritale
After an early breakfast you will proceed to visit the ancient city of Anuradhapura.
In the afternoon you will go on a safari tour at the Minneriya/Kaudulla/Hurulu Eco Park depending on the location most of the elephants are gathered. Here you will have the chance to witness the largest Asian elephant gathering.
After the safari tour you will be heading to Giritale, where you will be staying your night at.
Day 4
Girithale
After breakfast, a short drive will take you to the bank of the Girithale Reservoir, which is the starting point for a bicycle ride through the area.
Many birds await you along the canal, and during your ride, you will sample the flavor of authentic Sri Lankan rural life.
Day 7
Kandy/Nuwara Eliya
You will now journey on to Nuwara Eliya – climbing up to 1890m above sea level to a cooler climate. A hint of the colonial flavour still remains in the town of Nuwara Eliya which is why it is sometimes referred to as Little England
En route we visit a tea factory surrounded by tea plantations. Afternoon will be at leisure or walk down to the city and mingle with upcountry estate community.
Day 5
Girithale / Sigiriya/ Kandy
After breakfast, we will proceed towards Kandy and visit the Sigiriya ancient rock fortress.
Sigiriya Lion Rock is one of the iconographies of historical monuments in Sri Lanka. A combination of Irrigation, Architecture, Hydraulic, Painting, Poetry and urban planning depict the splendour of 5C AD. The colourful frescoes of graceful ladies painted on the side of the rock are likely the most beautiful and well-preserved of ancient Sri Lankan art.
Kandy is situated at the doorstep of the central hills and lies 1500 feet above sea level. The city is surrounded by a lush green fleet of mountains and is renowned for the Annual Kandy Perahera of the Sacred Temple of the Tooth.
Evening you will visit the Sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic
Day 6
Kandy
In the morning you will walk to the Udawattekele sanctuary; this tropical wet green forest provided security for the Kandyan Kingdom and was out of bounds for the general populace during the historical Kandyan period. Udawattekele is rich in nature and about 80 avifaunal species have been recorded in the area.
Day 8
Nuwara Eliya
You will have an early start with a packed breakfast for a walk in the plateau called Horton Plains. This cloud forest is the catchment area for a few main rivers and is situated more than 2000m above sea level. Horton Plains is also high on the list as an ideal place for trekking and bird watching
Day 9
Nuwara Eliya / Ella / Yala
After breakfast you will drive down to the sea level through the southeast slope of the central hills. You can pause for a couple of minutes on the way to photograph the glorious Ravana Falls in Ella
In the afternoon, you will proceed to the Yala National Park – the second largest park in Sri Lanka (978 km²) with the highest density of leopard population in the world

Day 11
Yala / Singharaja
Singharaja is one of the natural World Heritage Sites in Sri Lanka. It is situated in the middle elevation range of 270-1060m and is rich in endemism. Under the curly green tree canopy, you will find hidden the wonderful artistry of nature.
Day 12
Singharaja
Enjoy your day in the rainforest. Your guide and the forest trekker will help you to spot birds and other animals
Day 13
Singharaja / Galle
After breakfast, you will leave to the south coast and in the afternoon you will visit the Dutch Fortress in the town of Galle
Day 14
Galle/Airport
This is the end of your beautiful journey through Sri Lanka and you will be taken to the airport to board your flight home
